1996 – Roger Ebert was in studio right after this was released.  Howard said that this “was the biggest piece of garbage and you know it.”  Roger said he went to Cannes and they showed him 13 minutes of the film.  Howard asked if he slept, and Roger said that there wasn’t enough time to sleep, but that he did realize that Madonna CAN play Evita.  Howard said that nobody cares.  Musicals are crap now, he hates musicals.  Everyone sings instead of talks and the songs don’t even rhyme.

In 2015, Madonna was in studio.  Howard said Madonna was great in Evita, but never got the credit here.  She wasn’t even nominated for an Oscar, though she won the Golden Globes and other awards for her performance.  Madonna agreed that performance was overlooked.  Robin asked her about working with Antonio Banderas, and Madonna said she had a crush on him, but Melanie Griffith was with him the entire time.
