Goodfellas

1990 – The Henry Hill story.  Howard thinks this is another nearly perfect movie.  Fred plays the Joe Pesci quote “You think I’m funny?  I make you laugh?”  Henry Hill would call in at various times through the years before he died in 2012, either drunk or on the wagon soon to fall off.  He lived most of his later life in hiding from the mob.  He did start a tomato sauce business. that he’d plug from time to time.  Fred has some great sound bytes of Henry coughing, of him asking Lisa G drunkenly for a carmel macchiato, which Lisa thought he had said he wanted to “come on her face”, and his great laugh and his awful cough.  Also his voice saying “Pl-EEE-ZE.”  Once he called in to plug a website where he names all the different ways the mob used to kill people.  Artie said that he loved the scene where De Niro is talking and in the background is the Cream playing “Sunshine of Your Love.”  He says it’s a great scene.  He hates when great classic rock songs turn up in horrible movies, but this was terrific.  Someone called in to ask if it was Ralph Howard’s voice in the background during the shower scene, and Ralph said it wasn’t.  Artie can recite lots of scenes in this movie as well as The Godfather.

When Henry calls in, Howard said he loves his laugh.  He says Ray Liotta did it all throughout the movie and it was great.

For some reason, 8.23.13 Ralph tweeted:  @MYGEEKTIME  There’s not a MINUTE of GOODFELLAS that I don’t LOVE… A GREAT MOVIE on EVERY LEVEL!

In 2015, Ralph tweeted:  VERY COOL! #BestMobMovieEVER! ‘GOODFELLAS’ Reunion to Close Tribeca Film Festival hollywoodreporter.com/news/goodfella…
