Planet of the Apes (2001)

Howard really liked this one.  When Mark Wahlberg was on the show, Howard said that Helen Bonham Carter was really hot.  Mark said that when she was in her ape costume, she was so pretty, she looked just like Janet Jackson.  Everyone cracked up, and Mark never got that he might have said something racist, or at the least, offensive.  Howard also talked about Mark’s leading lady and how she was barely dressed during the entire movie.  I happened to see this movie that weekend, and when she stood up in her torn outfit, the entire crowd starting laughing, it was so blatant, and obvious that most of the crowd had heard Mark on Howard talking about it.

Howard was talking to Mark about how buffed-out he was, and asked if it was true Tim Burton wanted him to wear a loin cloth through the movie.  Mark said it was just brought up as an idea, not a request.  He said he ended up being in his space suit the whole movie, but it was in various states of being torn.

The original with Charlton Heston is a classic, but Howard thought the remake was better.  Original ape costumes are pretty laughable now. Robin said that Charlton had to suck in his gut the entire time, and it’s hard to act when you’re doing that.

In 2014, Howard and Robin both didn’t like the new Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, though they really liked the first one.
