This is Spinal Tap

1984 – Howard and the crew love this movie.  Very funny, spot on mock-u-mentary of the rock-u-mentaries for the 70’s and 80’s hair bands.  This is the movie where Fred gets the sound byte of cranking the volume control to 11.

Michael McKean (either Lenny or Squiggy from the Laverne and Shirley TV series) is a big Stern fan, and once played Howard on an SNL opening sketch, with Robin Duke as the laughing Robin, and Adam Sandler as Baba Booey.  Howard loved the sketch.  Once Ted Nugent was in studio, and said that the Spinal Tap filmmakers followed his band, and based some of the antics in the movie on what they saw.

Richard Christy (@cwotd)  3/2/14, 7:17 PM  Happy 30th Anniversary to the greatest Heavy Metal Comedy Ever – This Is Spinal Tap!

He said that douche bag guys at the stripper joint drinking Red Bull and vodka take the douche factor, starting maybe at a 6 and take it up to 11 (from Spinal Tap)
